This 23 in. by 18 in. 25 in. piece works between the practical and the sculptural, appearing as though it's an architectural model at a first glance.

Throughout this piece there are five different sizes when it comes to the modular pieces, which I balanced amongst the tree branches by focusing on the negative space between each form. I worked with the line and directionality of the tree branches in order to create unity amongst the many modules. I emphasized the appearance of an existing structure by creating platforms or the house-structures to sit atop. I was able to balance the largest platform and make it convincing by connecting twine to the top of the tree, as though it is holding it up. There is a contrast between the softened curvilinear shapes and the geometric shapes of the modules themselves.
